Continuing to drive innovation in the car audio segment, global and regional digital leader has announced the launch of a range of power-efficient digital audio systems, designed for in-dash installation.
Based on consumer research and market surveys, LG's new range of car audio systems includes the world's first MP3 combo in 1-DIN size, (the Deutsches Institut für Normung or the German Institute for Standardisation) and a 1-DIN DVD receiver. The new line up is loaded with features to boost sound quality and enhance a vehicle's interiors with three-dimensional graphic displays and multi-coloured backlit colours.
LG's audio components registered sales of US$85 million in the Middle East and Africa in 2004. By focusing on strategic links between home audio-video, car infotainment and mobile audio-video business, LG aims to rank among the top three global players in the digital display and media segment by 2007.
'The demand for in-car entertainment products has seen a continuous growth in the region. As one of the leaders in the car audio business, LG has introduced many successful car audio systems to meet the demands of the market and the customer. We see an immense growth in the demand for new technology car audio systems such as visual entertainment and hard disk player-recorders to replace conventional systems, particularly with the growing trend among the young population to listen to music while driving,' said C H Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
